UPS Logistics Technologies' Customer SYSCO, Featured in Fortune Magazine Article, "Veggie Tales”

Fortune Magazine’s Fortune Tech Daily column featured one of UPS Logistics Technologies’ customers, SYSCO.  SYSCO is a Houston-based distributor of produce, meats, and other food-related products.  Successfully distributing over 21.5 million tons of goods a year, to facilities ranging from cafeterias to sports stadiums, requires an efficient distribution model.

The article discusses SYSCO’s success of employing technology to save costs and drive efficiency.  According to the article, SYSCO’s use of Roadnet® to route their vehicles has helped drive costs down, especially when fuel prices spiked last year.  Over the past nine months, SYSCO’s diesel usage has been down 8% from a year earlier.
