UPS Logistics Technologies' Customers Featured in Wall Street Journal Article, "Tackling the Energy Monster"
The Wall Street Journal’s report on small businesses released an article titled, “Tackling the Energy Monster”. This article discusses how small businesses are finding new ways to manage $4+ a gallon gas prices through creative energy saving solutions. Transportation costs can be one of the greatest energy expenses for small businesses. The article discusses how Wil Fischer, a wholesale delivery company, employed UPS Logistics Technologies’ software solutions in an effort to reduce fuel spending. As a result, last year the company saved 25,000 miles – and despite rising fuel costs, only increased fuel spending by 1% - or about $1,700.00, as opposed to $250,000.00 the previous year.
An accompanying video to the article features another UPS Logistics Technologies’ customer, Wilson Oil of Wallingford. The video showcases how Wilson Oil has used the Roadnet® Transportation Suite to save time on administrative tasks, reduce mileage, and reduce fuel costs. Wilson Oil has estimated their savings to be about $46,000 a year.
